Teemu Lehmusruusu (1981, Helsinki) is interested in the invisible nature upon which the basis of our everyday perception of understandable reality is built. His artistic practise is research based and often include collaboration with biologists and soil and climate scientists as well as farmers and gardeners. Typically his works are linked in realtime to the surrounding natural processes and have a hybrid nature of piecing together disciplines.
Currently Teemu is working through his initiative started in 2018, a trans-disciplinary Trophic Verses -platform that explores the phenomena of soil and it’s linked ecosystems with a permanent science-sibling, the Carbon Action community.
Teemu is the Chairperson of the Board at the Bioart Society since 2020. He is also a doctoral candidate at the Aalto University. He builds an art farm at Kemiönsaari, two hours west of Helsinki.
