
A. Isa Araújo (b. Lisbon, Portugal) is an intermedia artist, researcher, and teacher working across performance, dance, digital media, and installation. Engaging with bodies, places, devices and duration as material, her practice draws from eco-somatics, posthuman perspectives, and speculative approaches as embodied ways to attend to the interdependent entanglements between humans and other-than-humans, reimagine alternatives and reconsider socio-ecological issues.
Her work has been recognised internationally through residencies, festivals, exhibitions and awards in Norway, Finland, Spain, France, Netherlands, Italy, USA, Greece, Belgium, Austria, among others. Co-founder of collaborative arts collectives and platforms for audiovisual experimentation such as Rizoma Colony, [re+act(ion)]AV, and the artistic duo Mr.Lazy&Mme. Leisure, she has also collaborated with artists and companies such as Mark Coniglio, Ana Borralho & João Galante, Útero/Miguel Moreira and Cia. JGM. In addition, she’s a guest professor at ESTC/IPL and previously at ESAD.CR/IPL. PhD candidate in Performing Arts and Moving Image (FBAUL/IPL), with degrees in Media & Performance, Performing Arts, Contemporary Dance and Theatre. CAMPING scholarship holder from the Centre National de la Danse, Paris.
