Hele Okkonen
Hele Okkonen (b. 1992, FI) practices slow methods, doing otherwise, and multispecies sustainable collaboration in their kinetic rya practice. In their works, Okkonen explores the perception of movement, the experience of not belonging, and diverse sensory experiences through the haptic nature of the pieces. They evoke consciousness of various diversities and the issues of biodiversity loss through soft materiality. Okkonen currently studies fine arts at Turku University of Applied Sciences, and their works have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Finland and in the HUS art collection.
