Jiyoun Lee
Jiyoun Lee continues her ecological pedagogical practices and artistic research between Korea and Finland. She centers ecology, feminism and community-based art in her work, expanding societal practices through partnerships with friends and collaborators, including factory2 (an art space), the Biodiversity Foundation, PaTI (an alternative design school), as well as individual artists and museums.
Her curatorial interests focus on hybrid identities through the concept of fungi and on exploring the multiple layers of the invisible and the silent, oriented toward caring for others. Since 2025, Jiyoun and Arlene Tucker have collaborated as co-curators of Contamination Lab, a platform that invites participants to explore contamination and its many implications from ecological, non-human, and human perspectives.
