Maria Ångerman
Maria Ångerman is a Finnish artist and filmmaker whose work explores the human relationship with the natural world, with a particular focus on liminal places and beings. Central to her practice is the search for ways to coexist and collaborate with other species, while addressing themes of loss, adaptability, survival, and transformation.
In 2014, she earned a Master’s degree from the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam through a practice-based research program in film, where she explored multi-layered narratives based on haptic imagery. Her work has been exhibited at festivals and galleries across Europe, as well as in Brazil, Mexico, and Senegal.
