Dr. Paula Kramer is an artist-researcher working with and through the body, based in Berlin. Her work focuses on tracing, investigating and replenishing intermateriality in site-specific movement practices, choreography and daily life. She collaborates with materials and organisms of many different orders – as active agents in the making of movement, choreography and sense-making. She completed her artistic PhD "Dancing Materiality" at Coventry University (UK) in 2015, followed by a three-year post-doc at the Centre for Artistic Research, Uniarts Helsinki (FI). As a movement artist and dancer she studied extensively with Helen Poynor and Suprapto Suryodarmo. She publishes widely in the field of artistic research through bodily practices and is a board member of the Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices. Her book Suomenlinna // Gropius – Two Contemplations on Body, Movement and Intermateriality came out in 2021 (Triarchy Press, UK).
